Stakeholders Convene to Drive Liberia’s First National Fisheries Investment Conference

Today, stakeholders of Liberia’s fisheries sector convened to initiate discussions toward the successful hosting of the country’s first National Fisheries Investment Conference.

Addressing participants at the meeting, the Director General–Designate of the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA), Mr. J Cyrus Saygbe Sr., disclosed that the conference is aimed at accelerating the growth of Liberia’s fisheries sector through the engagement of potential investors and the promotion of increased investment across the entire fisheries value chain.

He further emphasized that the initiative will significantly contribute to job creation, improved livelihoods, and the sustainable development of the sector.

The World Bank finances the National Fisheries Investment Conference through the Liberia Sustainable Management of Fisheries Project-LSMFP, which is implemented by the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA).
