The National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA) strengthens coordination as new agencies joins Steering Committee
The National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority concludes its 3rd working session as additional agencies of government join in the 3rd working session hosted at the new Headquarters of the National Oil Company of Liberia. The agencies include; the Roberts International Airport, the Intellectual Property Office of Liberia, and the Liberia Business Association, all involved in providing technical support and coordination across the government.
Hon. Cyrus Saygbe, NaFAA’s boss, acknowledged the diverse interagency approach as a unique platform to embrace context-fitting ideas that can elevate thr value of the conference.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is leading efforts in managing protocol arrangements and guest facilitations, while the LNP, EPS, LIS, and many others are designing security protection and movement facilitations.
Moreover, the Ministry of Commerce and Industries, the Liberia Business Registry, and the Intellectual Property Office are providing unique business development and sustainability roadmaps to serve as key components in delivering a consequential National Fisheries Investment Conference (NFIC 2026), scheduled for March 30-31, 2026, at the Farmington Hotel in Margibi County.
The conference is expected to position Liberia as a competitive destination for fisheries and aquaculture investment. It will also reinforce regional and international collaboration toward a sustainable ocean. The National vision for a sustainable and profitable blue economy will focus on dialogue among policymakers, donors, academia, and fishing industries. There shall also be a display of innovations in fishery monitoring, aquaculture, processing, and climate resilience. There will be a specific focus on promoting the inclusion of women and youth in the fishery value chains and compliance.
