The Government of Liberia, through The National Fisheries & Aquaculture Authority Republic of Liberia formally announces the hosting of the National Fisheries Investment Conference (NFIC) 2026, scheduled to take place from March 30–31, 2026.

The Conference, locally branded “Kpongama”—a Kpelleh term signifying Group Gathering, will be convened under the theme:

“Unlocking Blue Horizons: The Future of Fisheries and the Blue Economy.”

NFIC 2026 is envisioned as a premier national investment and policy dialogue platform designed to attract strategic investments, strengthen partnerships, and showcase Liberia’s potential across the fisheries and aquaculture value chains.

The Conference will bring together senior government officials, private-sector investors, development partners, regional institutions, coastal communities, and industry experts to advance sustainable fisheries development and accelerate Liberia’s blue economy growth.
Key focus areas of the Conference will include investment opportunities in capture fisheries, aquaculture, and fish processing; policy and regulatory reforms to enhance private sector participation; sustainable and climate-resilient fisheries management; inclusive growth with an emphasis on women and youth empowerment; and the promotion of strategic partnerships under the Liberia Sustainable Management of Fisheries Project-LSMFP with support from the World Bank.

Golden Touch Corporation Participates in World Bank's Environmental & Social Standards (ESS) framework training.

The Project Implementation Unit ( PIU) of the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA), as part of its engagement with Golden Touch Corporation as Event Planner for the Upcoming National Fisheries Investment Conference (NFIC), today, December 12, 2025, trained an array of GTC Consultants on the World Bank’s Environmental & Social Standards (ESS). The ESS are mandatory requirements for projects it finances, designed to manage risks to people and the environment, covering 10 areas like pollution, labor, land useBiodiversity.

The training amongst other aspects focused on the ESS1-ESS4 and ESS10, which are primarily related to Events and Programs.
