The Director General of The National Fisheries & Aquaculture Authority Republic of Liberia J Cyrus Saygbe Sr., today outlined the thematic focus of the upcoming National Fisheries Investment Conference (Kpongama) during the weekly press briefing at the Ministry of Information.

In his remarks, the conference’s technical sessions will be organized into nine strategic discussions, addressing key areas critical to unlocking Liberia’s blue economy potential.
These sessions will explore Fisheries and the Blue Economy as Drivers of Economic Transformation; Sustainable Fisheries Management and Governance; Investment Opportunities in Aquaculture and Inland Fisheries; Financing the Blue Economy in Liberia; Climate Resilience and Environmental Sustainability; Value Addition, Trade and Market Access; and Community Development, Livelihoods and Social Inclusion in Fisheries and Aquaculture.
 
These discussions will bring together policymakers, development partners, investors, researchers, and private-sector actors to identify practical investment pathways to strengthen Liberia’s fisheries sector, create jobs, enhance food security, and drive inclusive economic growth.
The National Fisheries Investment Conference, scheduled for March 30–31, 2026 under the Liberia Sustainable Management of Fisheries Project-LSMFP aims to position Liberia as an emerging destination for sustainable fisheries and blue economy investments.
